LoJack System Helps Pasadena Police Department Recover Stolen Nissan Sentra Three Suspect’s Arrested

The owner of a 1999 Nissan Sentra contacted the Department to report that his vehicle was stolen by force i.e. (Car Jacking). The officers had a description of a female suspect who had driven away with the Nissan as the victim clung on the hood.  Eventually the victim fell off and the car sped away. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan Sentra.

A short while later officers from Pasadena Police Department assisted by Air-PD1 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen  Nissan Sentra with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers were assisted by air-PD1 to an area in East Pasadena where the vehicle was tracked and located parked and unoccupied. The officers observed a female matching the description walking away from the vehicle and detained her.  Secondary information was learned that two males were also involved in the theft.  They were located at a local motel and arrested. 

All suspects were booked for the (Car Jack) theft pending further investigation by Detectives.  The car was later released to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra at Glendale Nissan in July 2001.
