LoJack System Helps Oakland Police Department Recover Stolen 1998 Honda CRV

The owner of a 1998 Honda CRV contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The owner advised they had parked in the parking lot of a movie theater and watched a movie. When they returned to where they had parked, they found their vehicle to be missing. The Newark Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 1998 Honda CRV.                                                                                                                                                                
A short time later, an Oakland Police Department officer was alerted to the stolen Honda CRV by means of the silent LoJack signal from the stolen vehicle with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Honda was tracked and was found parked, unoccupied in an apartment complex parking lot in the 2800 block of 27^th Avenue.    

The stolen Honda CRV was recovered by the Oakland Police Department and the vehicle was towed and stored for safe keeping to be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1998 Honda CRV, in August 2002 at Auto Nation Honda, in Fremont, CA.
