LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota Rav4

The owner of a 2012 Toyota Rav4 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that her vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of her residence in the 4300 block of Flaming Ridge Trail.  The owner had started the Toyota and left it unlocked and running to warm it up while she returned to her residence.  When the owner went back to use her Toyota she found it missing from her driveway so she notified the police.   

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as well as troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the vehicle around town as it moved and eventually located it in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 8300 block of Flamingo.  The Toyota was unoccupied when it was recovered and was released back to the owner. 

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Rav4 in January 2013 at Auto Nation Toyota, Las Vegas, Nevada.
