LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla within Minutes of Activation

The owners of a 2011 Toyota Corolla contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the 6600 block of Russell Road.  The owners had parked in the Toyota and believe they left it locked in the parking lot and when they returned they found it missing so they notified the police department.   

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Ten minutes later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 2100 block of Carver in North Las Vegas where it was located unoccupied.  The Toyota was recovered and towed for safekeeping. 

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in January 2012 at Auto Nation Toyota, Las Vegas, Nevada.
