LoJack System Helps SANCATT Recover Stolen Melroe Bobcat With Two Arrests.

The rental company of a 2017 Melroe Bobcat contacted the California Highway Patrol to report their Bobcat had been stolen from a jobsite in Riverside County. CHP Riverside verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Melroe.

A short while later patrol deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Chino Hills station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Bobcat with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Bobcat to a residence in Chino Hills. The deputies set up a perimeter on the location, as the Bobcat was not visible from the street, and called in San Bernardino Auto Theft Taskforce. (SANCATT) investigators arrived and recognized the location.  The taskforce had served a search warrant at the location several weeks earlier looking for other stolen equipment (non-LoJack equipped).  SANCATT obtained a new search warrant and located the stolen Bobcat in the rear yard of the location.  SANCATT arrested two people at the location and recovered the Bobcat.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Melroe Bobcat in August 2017 by Commercial Sales.
