LoJack System Helps Howard County Police Department Recover Stolen Buick

The owner of a 2005 Buick Rendezvous contacted the Howard County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from 10400 Guilford Road in the Jessup area of Howard County, Maryland.  Howard County Police Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2005 Buick Rendezvous.

A short while later, officers from Montgomery County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2005 Buick Rendezvous with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 3300 Castle Ridge Circle in The Silver Spring area of Montgomery County, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The undamaged vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Buick Rendezvous in May 2006.
