LoJack System Helps Adams County Sheriff Recover Stolen Honda Civic within Minutes of Activation

The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Officer to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  A deputy verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Four-minutes later a deputy on routine patrol picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from his PTC the deputy tracked the vehicle to 6700 block of Clermont Street where he found that it was freshly abandoned by the thief.  Footprints in the snow were tracked until lost in high traffic areas.

The Honda was recovered undamaged and returned to the very happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in Boulder at the request of a previous owner of the car in 2005.
