LoJack System Helps Atlanta Police Air Unit Recover Stolen 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche within Minutes of Activation

The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche reported to Douglasville Police that their 2006 Chevy Avalanche had been stolen. Douglasville Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the hidden LoJack in the vehicle concealed in the Chevrolet.

Minutes after it was entered as stolen one of Atlanta’s Police Air Units began picking up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Avalanche with the LoJack Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in their Aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from their PTC’s they were able to locate the Avalanche in a parking lot. From the time the vehicle was entered as stolen to the time Atlanta police recovered it was thirty-one minutes. The Chevrolet Avalanche was verified as stolen and impounded to be returned to the rightful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet in Jan 2006 at Cormier Chevrolet, Long Beach, California.
