The owners of a 2008 Land Rover contacted the Miami Beach Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The Miami Beach Police Department verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

Officers from The City of Miami and Miami-Dade Police Departments picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex in 1300 block of NW 95th.  The Land Rover was recovered without any damage and released to the owner after crime scene processing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover in January 2008 at Hennessy Land Rover, in Duluth, Georgia.
