LoJack System Helps Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Hummer-HU2 One in Custody

The owners of a Hummer HU-2 contacted the Murrieta Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Murrieta. Murrieta Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hummer.

A short time later, deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hummer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to a Casino located in the 23000 block of Soboba Road in the city of San Jacinto.

One suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hummer HU-2 in May 2004 at Weseloh Chevrolet, Carlsbad, California.
