LoJack System Helps Howard County Police Department Recover Stolen Ford F-250

The owner of a 2007 Ford F-250 contacted the Howard County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 9000 Gracious End Court in the Columbia area of Howard County, Maryland. Howard County Police Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2007 Ford F-250.

A short while later, officers from the Howard County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2007 Ford F-250 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 8900 Starford Blvd in the Columbia area of Howard County, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The undamaged vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Ford F-250 in November, 2006 at Koon’s Ford of Annapolis in Annapolis, Maryland.
