LoJack System Helps Baltimore City Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota One in Custody

The owner of a 2007 Toyota Sienna contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of Unit S. Schroeder Street in Baltimore City, Maryland. Baltimore City Police Radio dispatched an officer from the 9th District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. Investigation by the officer on scene determined the vehicle was stolen after it was left running unattended with the keys in the ignition. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2007 Toyota Sienna.

A short while later, officers from Baltimore City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2007 Toyota Sienna with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4000 block N. Rogers Avenue in the Grove Park area of Baltimore City, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle being operated by the theft suspect. A felony vehicle stop was performed and the driver arrested. The undamaged vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified.
