LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Accord within Minutes of Activation

The owners of a 2005 Honda Accord contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of an auto parts store in the 3900 block of Lake Mead.  The owner had stopped at the auto parts store to shop and left the Honda running and unsecured in the parking lot when he went inside to shop.  When the owner finished shopping he came out to find that his Honda was no longer in the parking lot so he notified police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda

5 minutes later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 300 block of 16th street where located the Honda unoccupied and still running without any damage. The Honda was recovered and returned back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in June of 2005 at Hoehn Honda, Carlsbad, California.
