LoJack System Helps Fresno Police Department Recover 2016 Nissan Versa within Minutes of Activation

The owner of this Nissan Versa contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a dance club near downtown Fresno. The owner reported that her keys had been lost or stolen while she and her boyfriend were dancing. The Fresno Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.
Minutes after the LoJack was activated, an officer with the Fresno Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the vehicle to the vicinity of Broadway and Thomas avenues in central Fresno. The vehicle was located unoccupied and abandoned, parked at the south curb. The vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the recovery scene.
The LoJack® System was installed in this Nissan in May 2016 by Selma Nissan in Selma, California. Selma Nissan installs LoJack tracking devices on the vehicles at their dealership as part of a preinstall program. The program enhances sales and also provides an added measure of asset security while vehicles are on the dealership lot as well as for the customer after the vehicle has been sold.
