LoJack Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade

On May 22, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their SUV was stolen from their residence near Harmon and Jones in Southwest Las Vegas. After verifying the theft, Las Vegas officers entered the Cadillac’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Escalade.

A short while later, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Cadillac Escalade on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the SUV to the area of 4400 block of E. Baltimore, Las Vegas, Nevada. There, they located the stolen vehicle, parked, abandoned and undamaged – over 11 miles away from the theft location.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in January of 2006 at Cadillac West of Las Vegas, NV.
