The owner of a Dodge pickup contacted the Dallas Police Dept to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle in his driveway and when he returned to it found it missing. The Dallas Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge pickup.

Five minutes later officers from the Dallas Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Dodge pickup to the 4800 block of Bartlett, where they found it parked in the backyard of a house.  The owner of the house told officers that a friend had brought the stolen Dodge pickup over to his house and asked to park it in his backyard.  The house owner gave officers the name of his friend.  The Dodge pickup’s steering column was damaged.  This is an ongoing investigation with an arrest warrant pending.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge pickup in October of 2001 at Chaparral Dodge in Mesquite, TX.
