LoJack System Helps Unified Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Accord

The owners of a 1996 Honda Accord contacted the Unified Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.  The owners had parked and locked the Honda and when they returned they found it missing so they notified police. Unified Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers from Unified Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area in Kearns, Utah where they located the Honda occupied by a male.  A traffic stop was attempted and the male fled in the Honda.  The Officers continues to follow the LoJack signal and found the Honda abandoned.  The Honda was then recovered and returned back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in January of 1999 at Norm Reeves Honda, Cerritos, California.
