The owner of a 2005 GMC Canyon parked his vehicle where he normally parks by his house, when he came out the next day, he found it missing. He immediately called Mt Vernon Police Department, Westchester County NY who upon arrival verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC. This was done both seamlessly and silently without any other messages.

Within a short while the signal from the stolen GMC was picked up by officers of the Bronx Auto Larceny unit, in the Wakefield section of the Bronx with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked it through various sections of the Bronx; eventually they located the vehicle parked on a residential street. They staked the vehicle out for a short while, however when no one came for it they recovered the stolen GMC.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified, and he was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage.

The LoJack unit was installed at Mark Buick/GMC in Yonkers NY on March 21, 2005.
