The owners of a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 called Rockdale Sheriff’s office to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Rockdale Sheriffs verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2000 Dodge Ram.

A short while later an Officer from Georgia’s Department Motor Vehicle Safety unit picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from their PTC, the Officer tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex in Lithonia, Ga.

Once the vehicle was located and positively identified the Officer began checking other vehicles parked nearby. He learned that a 1999 Lincoln Continental and a 2016 Nissan Murano parked next to the Dodge were also reported stolen out of nearby Decatur, Ga. In all the LoJack signal lead Officer Woodie to three stolen vehicles parked at the same location. This is just one example of how LoJack installed in a customer’s vehicle led to the recovery of not just the LoJack vehicle but others.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge in Oct of 1999 at Hall Dodge in Virginia Beach, Va.
