LoJack System Helps Nevada Highway Patrol Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade

The owners of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from where it was parked, in front of their residence in the 3000 block of Milo Way.  The owners had parked it in the street and left it for the night.  In the morning when they went to use it the Cadillac was missing so they notified police. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later troopers from Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the vehicle to a desert area near US95 and Snow Mountain.  The Cadillac and been driven into the desert and abandoned.  The Cadillac was recovered by the troopers and towed for safekeeping.
