The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic contacted the Albuquerque Police Department and the LoJack Call Center to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised he last saw the Chevrolet Sonic last night in the apartment complex parking lot in the area of Eubank and Academy.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Sonic.

Approximately 30 minutes after the activation, officers and Auto Theft detectives with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles, undercover vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and detectives tracked the LoJack signal to the area of Lomas and Eubank.  The Chevrolet was observed parked alongside the curb and unoccupied.  The owner was called to the scene and was happy to get his Chevrolet back so quickly.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Sonic in July 2017 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
