The owner of a 2001 Ford F250 contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised he heard the engine to his Ford start and saw it driving away without permission.  This was in the area of Wyoming and Central.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F250.

A few hours after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the area of Tennessee and Central.

The Ford was found to be parked and unoccupied.  Officers made contact with the owner and he responded to the scene.  The Ford was released back to the owner and he was able to drive it home.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in April 2001 at Sanderson Ford in Glendale, Arizona.
