LoJack System Helps Anaheim Police Department Recover Stolen 2011 Isuzu Truck with $20,000 in Stolen Aluminum Parts Recovered, Two in Custody!

A commercial business rented a 2011 Isuzu truck to haul company product. The Isuzu was left in the company’s locked commercial warehouse over a weekend and when employees returned to work they discovered the warehouse had been broken into. Employees discovered the rented Isuzu was missing. The Isuzu had been loaded with about $20,000 worth of aluminum parts. The business contacted the Anaheim Police department to report the burglary and theft of the Isuzu and aluminum parts.
Anaheim PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Isuzu.
About two minutes later Anaheim’s airship “Angel” picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Isuzu with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, airship “Angel” tracked the Isuzu to a recycling plant in the city of Garden Grove, just outside the city of Anaheim. Both Anaheim PD and Garden Grove PD patrol officers responded to the location. The officers found a male inside the Isuzu and detained him. Employees at the recycling plant told the officers that a female also arrived in the Isuzu. Officers located the female as she was walking away from the location. Employees stated there was a second male subject that arrived in the Isuzu but he was not located. Officers later determined he was the brother of the detained male.
Officers spoke with employees from the recycling plant and learned the Isuzu had arrived loaded with aluminum parts. The suspects were paid for the aluminum; however that money was recovered by the officers and returned to the recycling plant. An employee of the victim business arrived at the location and identified the off-loaded aluminum as the missing parts from their company. The aluminum parts, valued at $20,000, were recovered and returned to the victim along with the stolen Isuzu. Both the female and male subjects were arrested. Detectives will follow-up on locating the brother that left the location.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Isuzu in April 2011 by Commercial Sales.
