Stolen Honda Accord Quickly Recovered by Baltimore City Officers Using LoJack

In the early morning hours of June 3, 2012, the owner of a 2001 Honda Accord contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the 800 block of N. Caroline Street. After verifying the theft, Baltimore City officers had the Honda’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short time later, patrol officers with the Baltimore City Police Department began to receive the Honda’s silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their police vehicles. Following the directional and audible signal on the LoJack Trackers, the officers tracked the Honda to the 1400 block of East Eager Street. There, the officers recovered the parked and abandoned vehicle and notified the owner of its safe recovery.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Honda at the car buyer’s request in July of 2001.
