The owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Dallas Police Dept to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner was approached by a teenage girl who asked for a ride to a convenience store.  The owner drove her to the store and after he stopped his vehicle in the parking lot was approached by two suspects.  The suspects each pointed a handgun at the owner and demanded his vehicle and cell phone.  The owner complied and the suspects and the teenage girl drove off in his vehicle.

The Dallas Police Dept verified the carjacking and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from the Dallas Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Chevrolet and observed it traveling northbound in the 8800 block of Polk Av. It was occupied by three suspects. When officers attempted to stop it a chase ensued.  The officers lost sight of the stolen Chevrolet, but were able to track it to the 1100 block of E. Elmore, where they observed it parked at a gas station.  The three suspects were still inside it and when they saw the officers they fled on foot.  All three were apprehended.  The Chevrolet was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in November of 2014 at Singh Chevrolet in Riverside, CA
