The owner of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee contacted the California Highway Patrol Willows Area to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The owner advised the vehicle had been taken by a family member who then refused to return the vehicle and their whereabouts was unknown.

The California Highway Patrol verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee.

A short while later a deputy with the Butte County Sheriff’s Department, was in the city of Chico, when they were alerted to the stolen Jeep Cherokee by means of the silent LoJack signal from the stolen vehicle. The stolen Jeep was then tracked with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen vehicle was tracked and was found unoccupied, parked in the vicinity of Midway near Hegan Lane.

The stolen Jeep Cherokee was recovered by the Butte County Sheriff’s Department, and the owner responded to the scene to retrieve her vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee in July of 2018, at Sullivan Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, in Yuba City, CA.
