The owner of a 2015 Ford F150 pickup contacted the Austin Police Dept to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle in his driveway and when he returned to it found it missing.

The Austin Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the Austin police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford pickup to the corner of Dungan Lane and Dessau Road where they found it parked in a gas station parking lot.  The Ford pickup was recovered in good condition.  Officers are reviewing the gas station’s video to see if a suspect can be identified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 pickup in October of 2015) at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, TX.
