The owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox called the Washington Township Police Department to report that one sometime during the night his vehicle was stolen from his driveway in Washington Township.

The Washington Township Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox.

A short while later, pilots from the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that is installed in the helicopter.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Aviation Unit tracked the vehicle to a remote area of Washington Township. The Aviation Unit radioed the location of the stolen Chevrolet to ground units from the Washington Township Police Department. The vehicle was recovered parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox in November of 2014 at the Chevrolet of Turnersville, N.J.
