The owners of a 2015 Minni Cooper contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Chula Vista.

Chula Vista Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mini.

Within 10 minutes, officers from Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mini Cooper with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1400 block of Longview Drive in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mini Cooper in October 2014 at Crevier Mini, Santa Ana, California.
