LoJack System Helps District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Ashton Martin

The owners of a 2009 Ashton Martin Vantage contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 4300 block 18th Street NW in Washington, DC. District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2009 Ashton Martin Vantage.
A short while later flight officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2009 Ashton Martin Vantage with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the vehicle to 11100 Veirs Mill Road in the Silver Spring area of Montgomery County, Maryland. At this location, flight officers observed the vehicle parked on the parking lot of a shopping center. Montgomery County police responded and recovered the undamaged vehicle and notified the owner.
