LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Lexus R350

The owner of a 2007 Lexus R350 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of her work in the 1400 block of Jones. The Owner was working in her place of work and had an equipment cart she was using and had placed the keys to her vehicle on the cart. She left the cart unattended for a few minutes and upon returning found her keys missing. She then went out to the parking lot to find her Lexus was missing also so she notified the police.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.
A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 7400 block of Washington. The Lexis was unoccupied and unharmed. The Lexus was recovered by police and towed for safekeeping.
