The owners of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the repair shop where it was left. The owners were contacted by the business who told them that the Chevrolet was left unsecured in their parking lot with the keys inside it and that it was now missing.  The owners went to the location to confirm it was missing and then notified the police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

15 minutes later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a business in the 2900 block of Losee Rd.  The Chevrolet was found unoccupied and unharmed.  The Chevrolet was then recovered and towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in January of 2014 at Selman Chevrolet, Orange, California.
