The owners of a 2008 Saturn Vue contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen with the keys that were left in the vehicle while they were inside a store shopping.

The Phoenix Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saturn.

Twenty five minutes later, officers from the Phoenix Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saturn with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of 51st Avenue and McDowell Road.

The vehicle was located unoccupied in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant approximately four miles from where it was stolen from.  No suspects were observed in the area or returning to the vehicle.  The Phoenix Police Department officers recovered the stolen Saturn and processed the vehicle for evidence.  The vehicle was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saturn Vue in October 2008 at Saturn of Tempe, Tempe, Arizona.
