The owners of a 2006 Honda Civic contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short time later, officers from Escondido police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1800 block of Center City Parkway in the city of Escondido. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in August 2006 at Spirit Honda, El Monte, California.
