The owners of a 2009 Toyota Camry contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Menifee.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 15 minutes, officers from Murrieta Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Camry with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Interstate 215 and Murrieta Hot Springs in the city of Murrieta.  A traffic stop was made; one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in October 2011 at Toyota Chula Vista, Chula Vista, California.
