The owner of a 2009 Ford F150 pickup contacted the Houston Police Dept to report that her vehicle had been stolen.  The owner parked her vehicle in her apartment parking lot and while she was walking to her apartment was approached by three suspects who assaulted her, took her car keys and drove off in her vehicle.

The Houston Police Dept verified the robbery and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

An hour later officers from the Houston Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford pickup to the 6500 block of Del Rio St where they found it parked on the street in front of an apartment complex.  The license plates had been changed out.  The officers set up surveillance and awhile later observed three suspects enter the stolen Ford pickup and drive off.  When the officers attempted to stop the stolen Ford pickup, the three suspects jumped out of it and fled on foot.  They were apprehended and arrested.  The Ford pickup was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 pickup in June of 2010 at Auto Nation Ford in Katy, TX.
