The construction company owner of a 1997 Ingersol Rand Compressor contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report the machine was stolen.  The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the machine information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ingersol Rand Compressor.

A vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Compressor.  Officers with the Santa Ana Tribal Police Department were directed to a job site near several water tanks.  Officers located the stolen Compressor on the job site and made contact with a subject who was found in possession of the Compressor.

The Compressor was found to be removed from its original trailer configuration and now mounted on the deck of a flatbed trailer.  The public identification number (serial number) had been removed and the machine was identified via secondary means.  The original owner of the machine was notified of the recovery and was quite surprised to hear how far it traveled.  The owner was also impressed that the LoJack still works after nearly 17 years since the original installation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ingersol Rand Compressor in June 2001 via Commercial Sales in Phoenix, Arizona.
