LoJack System Helps New York Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Odyssey

The owner of a 2018 Honda Odyssey contacted the 106 precinct to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The details are as follows.

The owner had stopped his vehicle to get a cold drink. He made the mistake of when he ran into the store, he left his vehicle running, and unattended. Apparently some miscreant jumped into the vehicle and took off with it. This was in the Ozone Park section of Queens, confines of the 106 precinct. He immediately called the Police of the 106 precinct. When the Police arrived they took a written report, this information was then entered into the NYPD Computer for stolen vehicles, it also enters the NCIC computer which is the computer for the U.S. Once this was done the LoJack transponder that is hidden on the vehicle was activated without any special calls or notification, this was done both seamlessly and silently.

Within a short while members of the 75 precinct picked up the signal in the East New York section of Brooklyn, confines of the 75 precinct. They tracked the vehicle through various streets in the East New York, section .Eventually they located the vehicle parked in the parking lot of a city housing project They staked the vehicle for a short while, however no one came for it, so the vehicle was taken into custody..

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified, and he was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage.

The LoJack unit was installed at Hillside Honda, Jamaica Queens on February 3, 2018.

The value of the vehicle was approximately $42,000.00
