The owner of a 2018 Honda Civic contacted the Elizabeth Police Department to report his vehicle stolen from the driveway of his home in the City of Elizabeth. The keys were in the vehicle. The Elizabeth Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2018 Honda Civic.

A short while later, officers from the Elizabeth Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to Jacques Avenue in the City of Elizabeth, where the vehicle was located parked in a lot behind Public School # 9.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2018 Honda Civic in March 2018 at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, New Jersey.
