The owners of a 2006 Honda Accord contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a parking garage in downtown Phoenix. The keys were left in the Honda.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a trailer park near 31st Avenue and Van Buren Street.

The stolen Honda was located unoccupied in the trailer park, approximately four miles from where it was reported stolen from. No suspects were seen near the Honda or in the area. The Honda was recovered and processed for evidence. The Honda was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in April 2006 at Tempe Honda in Arizona.
