The owners of a 2005 Dodge R1500 called the Webster Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the restaurant where they were having dinner. They parked in the parking lot and went inside, returning later and found the Dodge missing. The Webster PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge pickup.

A short while later officers with the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the pickup to a large retail mall parking lot where the vehicle was parked and abandoned. The pickup was released to the owner with only minor entry and ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge R1500 in October 2006 at Bob Pagan Sand Dollar Dodge Chrysler.
