The owners of a 2016 Honda Civic contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 3500 block Parkfalls Drive in the Nottingham area of Baltimore County. The Baltimore County PD dispatched an officer from the 8th precinct to the location and the officer upon arrival obtained all the vehicle information and searched the area for the Honda. After not locating the Honda a stolen vehicle report was completed. Investigation on scene by the officer found that a spare key to the Honda was kept inside of a second vehicle at the scene. That vehicle had been ransacked, the spare key removed and used to steal this Honda Civic. The Baltimore County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

A short while later detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Honda to the 2600 block Latona Road in Baltimore City. At this location, detectives observed the Honda parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Honda was recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Honda Civic in May 2016 at Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, Maryland.
