The owner of the Toyota Yaris parked on the street not far from where he works. He parked by a parking meter and noted the time. Exactly two hours later he came back for the Toyota and found it missing. This was in the Fordham section of the Bronx. He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 48 precinct. The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Yaris.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by the 48 precinct police officers on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) in their vehicle. This was also in the Fordham section of Bronx confines of the 48 precinct. They tracked the Toyota to a business area and found the vehicle parked. The Toyota was recovered with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Toyota was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. He further stated that he was happy that when he bought the Toyota he also purchased the LoJack® System with it. He further stated that he bought the Toyota so long ago he didn’t think the LoJack would still be working. He further stated that if it weren’t for LoJack his Toyota may never have been recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Toyota Yaris in November 2008 at Fordham Toyota in Bronx, New York.
