The owners of a 2016 Ford F150 contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report he parked his pickup in the mall parking lot and went inside to shop. When he returned later he found his truck had been stolen. The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the pickup to a mall parking lot where it was parked and abandoned. The Ford sustained minor entry and ignition damage. The pickup was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in December at Jordan Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
