Suzuki Motorcycle Stolen and Recovered in Orange County, FL — One Arrested

On the evening of April 15, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 discovered that the motorcycle was missing from the parking lot of his apartment complex, where he had parked the previous night. He immediately contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to report the theft.
Orange County deputies completed a theft report and had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, as LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Approximately two hours later, a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 unit picked up the Suzuki’s silent homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his department vehicle. Using the directional and signal strength indicators on his PTC, the deputy quickly located the motorcycle parked on the side of a private residence in Apopka, Florida. The Auto Theft Unit was contacted and responded to the location. After interviewing the residents of the home, one male suspect was arrested at the scene.
The motorcycle was recovered with minimal damage and returned to the very happy owner. The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this vehicle at the owner’s request in July 2006.
