The owner of a Lexus 300 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Within a short time, officers from the Escondido Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to a commercial parking lot located in the 100 block of West Del Norte Parkway in the city of Escondido.  One suspect was arrested without incident for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus 300 in December 2003 at Direct Sales in San Diego, California.
