LoJack System Helps Shasta County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Jeep Wrangler

The owner of a 2012 Jeep Wrangler contacted the Yuba City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated his girlfriend took the Jeep and moved away. The victim has been in contact with the ex-girlfriend and she still refuses to return the Jeep. The victim contacted the Yuba City PD and reported the Jeep as stolen.
The Yuba City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.
Just minutes later, deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department in the City of Redding picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Jeep to a garage in the residential area of Azoulay Ct and Victor Ave. The PTC’s indicated the Jeep was in a garage. Deputies made contact with the residents and received statements from them. The Jeep was recovered and released to the owner.
Information was passed on to the Yuba City PD for a follow up investigation.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Wrangler in February 2017 at Roseville Toyota in California.
