The owner of a 2017 Audi Q7 called the Millburn Police Department to report that someone had stolen their vehicle from their residence on Woodcrest Drive, near South Mountain Reservation. The owner told the police that the suspect had entered their home through an open garage door, then proceeded to enter the residence and took the Audi keys off a hook near the door. The customer also called the LoJack call center to report the theft.

The Millburn PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi Q7.

A short while later, detectives from the Millburn PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Audi to South Clinton Ave in the City of East Orange. Surveillance was established with the help of the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force. Within a short time two suspects were observed entering the stolen Audi. The suspected were taken into custody and the Audi was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2017 Audi Q7 in May 2017 at DCH Millburn Audi in Maplewood, New Jersey.
