The owner of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

At a later time, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chevrolet to the area of Sonora Street and Brandywine Boulevard in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in August 2016 at Dailey Chevrolet in San Leandro, California.
