LoJack System Helps Philadelphia Police Department a Recover Stolen Ford Truck

The owner of a 2004 Ford truck recently discovered that the vehicle had had been stolen from the parking spot in front of his residence located in the northeast section of Philadelphia. The Ford owner called 911 and the Philadelphia Police Department Radio dispatched a uniformed officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and then surveyed the area for the Ford. When the officer was unable to locate the Ford a stolen vehicle report was prepared and taken to Philadelphia PD 2nd District HQ. The stolen vehicle information was then entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
A short while later members of the elite Philadelphia PD Aviation Division were on patrol over the city in a police airship equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The aviation officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the aviation officers tracked the signal to the area of Horrocks and Unruh Streets. The aviation officers advised radio of the situation and a LoJack equipped police vehicle was dispatched to the area. The parked and unoccupied Ford was subsequently located and returned to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in November 2003 at Rodman Ford in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
